Description

If you would like to bring a child or student (6th grade and older), please email [email protected] to have them added to the registration list.

From persuasive algorithms to parental oversharing, the digital world is shaping how children see themselves—and how others see them. Join us for a thought-provoking presentation that revisits The Social Dilemma five years later, explores the ethics of digital design, and equips adults with tools to better protect vulnerable youth. Together, we’ll explore how technology impacts behavior, relationships, and well-being—and what we can do to create safer digital spaces for all.

Bio: Recently relocated back home to Omaha, Joe Toscano is an award-winning designer, published author, and international keynote speaker who left his role consulting for Google because he felt the industry was misusing data and that the issues needed to be addressed through innovation rather than strict regulation. Since leaving, Joe has written a book, called Automating Humanity, and has helped draft, support, and enact laws to make the internet safer. You may recognize Joe as a featured expert from The Social Dilemma on Netflix; as the speaker in his TEDx Talk, “Want to work for Google? You already do,” or from myriad appearances on national news broadcasts within the US and abroad.
