Description

Only available to the New York State Office of Children & Family Services. Must have coupon to access.

This facilitated session utilizes Missing, a powerful 45 to 50-minute documentary that deepens the conversation around missing youth and trafficking. Building upon the 2024 trafficking initiative video, Missing shares the voices and experiences of survivors, exploring the reasons behind their decisions to run—what they are running from or to—and how these circumstances increase their vulnerability to exploitation. Through guided discussions at key stopping points, participants will have the opportunity to process their reactions, challenge common misconceptions, and gain a clearer understanding of the realities of trafficking in our community.

Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Recognize that youth trafficking is happening in our own community.
  • Understand that trafficking does not always look like it does in movies.
  • Challenge harmful stereotypes and recognize that these are not “bad kids” but rather vulnerable youth in need of support.
  • Identify meaningful actions they can take to support prevention, intervention, and awareness efforts.
