Description

This training explores the ethical considerations faced by mental health practitioners working with youth and families involved in the juvenile welfare system. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the roles and scope of practice of the multidisciplinary professionals involved in these cases, with a focused emphasis on the therapist’s responsibilities.

The training will provide practical strategies for effective communication and collaboration with diverse system partners. It will also address the complexities of family dynamics in cases involving sexual abuse and highlight the critical role of coordination with Child Advocacy Centers (CACs).

In addition, participants will receive an overview of evidence-based, trauma-informed practices proven effective in supporting youth and caregivers who have experienced significant trauma.
